Barcelona’s biggest fountain, built in 1929 for the International Exhibition, offers at night a spectacular display of music, lights and water acrobatics which generates over 50 kinds of diferent shapes.
The Montjuïc Magic Fountain has become one of Barcelona’s most popular attractions and is one of the highlights of the city. This performance, which mixes up colours and water at the rhythm of the music, lasts from 10 minutes to 15 minutes and you can enjoy all types of music during the water choreography.
During the performance, you can hear all kind of music, ranging from the most famous hits of the year to classical music. There is a song for every taste! You can hear music from the 80’s, 90’s, ‘zarzuela’, Catalan music, movies soundtracks, and many more!

Where?
This performance takes place at the magnificent Maria Cristina Avenue, next to Plaza España, one of the nicest places in Barcelona. There, you will find the beginning of the Montjuic hill, and you will see the Maria Cristina Avenue going from the Plaza España towers to the fountain. You can also see, behind the fountain and at the top of the hill, the National Museum of Catalan Art (MNAC – Museu Nacional d’Art de Cataunya) one of the most emblematic museums in Catalunya, which holds the world’s largest and best art collection of the Romanic Period.
