Brief history of the club

FC Barcelona was founded in 1899 by Joan Gamper, who was its player, director and president.  After a few struggles in its early years, the Club grew quickly.
Joan Gamper died during the 1930s, a time in which it also took place the SecondSpanishRepublic, the Spanish Civil War and the murder of Josep Suñol (president of FCBarcelona back then), so it was a hard period.
Despite adverse circumstances, FC Barcelona has always been loyal to its identity, and many great footballers have belonged to this Club: Kubala, Cruyff, Maradona, Schuster, the Dream Team of Koeman, Laudrup, Stoichkov and Romario, Ronaldinho, Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and, more recently, Neymar. There’s no doubt that FCBarcelona is now going through the best years in its history.

How to get to Camp Nou

This stadium is located in Avinguda Aristides Maillol, s/n, 08028, Barcelona (map).
Barcelona is a place with a lot of traffic, so if you are going to the stadium on match days you better do it using public transport.
by Metro
If you’re coming from the centre of Barcelona, you will get easily to the Stadium by metro, for a bit more than 1€ (single ticket). Your best choice will be to take the Green Line (L3) towards Zona Universitària and until Les Corts Station (about 15 min from Plaça Catalunya). Once you exit the metro station, you can just follow the indications to get to the stadium. You have to walk straight down the road “Travessera de les Corts” about 400m to the west, and you’ll see the Camp Nou.
On match days the Metro might be plenty of people going to the Stadium, so plan time enough to get there at least 30 min before kickoff.
